We are looking forward to it so much!

Traveling through America and Canada has something special for us. The great variety in nature, cities, countryside and cultures is what appeals to us enormously. We have traveled through Canada and America several times with a rental motorhome. The trip was usually about four weeks and in that period we tried to cram in as many destinations as possible.

Nu we zelf een camper hebben, lijkt het ons geweldig om in ons eigen tempo – zonder planning – door de parken, dorpen en steden te reizen.

From idea to reality

In late 2020, we met an American/German couple. They told us they were going to America in 2021 to visit their (father-in-law). We exchanged experiences about the beautiful nature and special places that are absolutely worth visiting. We became so enthusiastic about this that we came up with the idea to travel through America and Canada with our own camper.

But how do you make it happen? 

You need to take care of a number of things:

1. Having an B2 visa. aanvragen. Een standaard USA – Esta tourist travel authorization document is valid for three months. We think that is far too short for all the trouble and expense you incur. For Canada, an Eta travel document will suffice. It is valid for six months.
2. Having an insurance for Canada and/or America.
3. We found the roll on-roll off-crossing .

When do we go?

When we scheduled a visa appointment in January 2022, we couldn't get an interview until mid-October 2022. We finally have our USA visa in and can start making concrete plans. Our preference is to put the motorhome on the boat to Halifax-Canada in late April so we can start our trip in early May.
