Als je onbetaald verlof hebt aangevraagd en gekregen is het verstandig om te vragen of de pensioenopbouw wordt voortgezet. Bij bijv. het ABP moet de pensioenopbouw tijdens het verlof worden voortgezet. Omdat je onbetaald verlof opneemt, zal je werkgever niet het werkgeversdeel van het pensioen betalen. Dit kan, afhankelijk van de hoogte van je inkomen en het aantal uren dat je werkt, oplopen tot een bijbetaling (vanuit jouw zijde) van duizenden euro’s.

We are happy with all additions, with the exception of the rear-view camera. By the way, this is not the camera, but rather the mounted location.
To increase our sense of freedom, we have solar panels (with inverter and battery), an Ogo toilet and a Clearly filtered waterkan gekocht. Door deze aankopen vinden wij het nu heel leuk om “vrij” te kamperen. We hebben onze eigen stroomvoorziening, een heel goed toilet dat geurvrij en makkelijk te legen is en een waterkan die uit al het water chemicaliën, etc. verwijderd.

When we were disenrolled, we chose Allianz Globetrotter travel insurance with medical expenses (without health insurance in NL).
If you are deregistered from the Netherlands because you travel for longer than 8 months-within 1 year, your health insurance obligation continue as usual.
If you do not have your own home and/or income, you can cancel your health insurance. You can then insure the medical expenses at e.g. Allianz Globetrotter . Any insurance you take out must be completed before deregistration!
We found the roadtax is een houderschapsbelasting. Je blijft de “houder” van je voertuig, daarom moet je de wegenbelasting blijven betalen. De camperverzekering keert overigens bij schade niet uit als je geen wegenbelasting betaalt.
If you are deregistered then your RV insurance probably doesn't have coverage anymore. Almost all of your insurances lapse automatically upon deregistration from the Central Persons Registration (BRP).
You remain the holder of your vehicle. You remain obliged to pay road tax and have your vehicle MOT(APK) tested. The road tax and MOT(APK) obligation expire when the vehicle is suspended. But then the vehicle is not allowed on public roads. Want to know more about this click here.

The long travel regulations, forces you to deregister from the Central Persons Registration (BRP). You will still remain a Dutch citizen!

Sometimes we are somewhere special and then we would love to share the experience with them on the spot. Alternatively, we usually do it via Facetime.
Onze kinderen zijn zelf ook reislustig en genieten van het leven. Zij vinden het heel gaaf, dat we met een camper de wereld verkennen. We hebben zo’n unieke band, dat we elkaar alles gunnen! Als we elkaar willen zien, dan komen ze bij ons langs of wij gaan naar hen toe!

No way! We have a great time together! We also really enjoy meeting new people. Every time we are also surprised by all the beauty the world has to offer us.

Our (in-law) children are our very best friends! On the road you meet a lot of different people. Just like at home, you have a click with one person and not with another.
But that's the beauty of traveling, you are as free as you want to be. Also in maintaining the contacts you make along the way. We have met some very special people in recent years. We still have regular contact with some of them and have really taken them into our hearts ?? gesloten.
We frequently get this question from people who are retired themselves. We usually ask: What do you do all day?
We enjoy life! We walk, bike, do nothing, read a book, learn something new, write something on the website, photograph, do research on things we think are important, help our children, visit or get visitors, etc.
The best decision is that we started listening to our feelings. Does something feel right? No matter what it is, we do it. We know by now that this is always right.
Het mooie is dat de ideeën zo in je hoofd “opkomen” en dat je meestel meteen een besluit neemt. De aanschaf van de camper was o.a. zo’n moment.
These books have enriched us immensely. It is knowledge that you don't learn in school, from your parents or your environment. The books are fun to read and make you look honestly at yourself
When you look through a keyhole, you can't see what is happening to the left, right and behind you. This is how we can summarize in retrospect our life, of the past 20 years. We were always hungry for knowledge and did very nice things, but always in the same circle. Nothing wrong with that! The vast majority of people like that very much.
Reading the books has greatly expanded our field of vision, and this development never stops.
