We compared 18 November 2024 the biggest motorhome insurance providers. You can read the result in this blog. It all starts with the question below:
What do you think is an important cover/condition in a motorhome insurance policy?
This is very personal! Some choose to stay outside the Netherlands for longer periods (more than 180 days), while others find roadside assistance or e.g. costs very important. We approached the comparison as follows:
We choose All Risk insurance and enter the owner's details.
Owner details
maximum no-claims (discount)
Security Bearlock
1st owner
Purchase value, incl. accessories
We then check the outcomes of basic insurance conditions on:
Unlimited mileage
Max. number of days travelling outside the Netherlands
Max. number of days stored outside the Netherlands
Cover for postal address (no residential address in NL)
Permanent living in the motorhome
Then we focus on the additional coverages:
Inventory
Occupants
Roadside assistance NL/EU
New for New coverage
Discount (members)
Good to know
It is wise to read through an insurer's motorhome conditions and general terms and conditions. Then read these two sections in particular: - What is not insured? - When may we cancel you insurance?
Do you have plans to spend 180 days outside the Netherlands? Do you want to live permanently in the motorhome? Do you only have a letter address? All these options are reflected in those sections. For each insurer, we share some notable other sections.
